Native to humid forests of Central America especially in Guatemala where it grows as an epiphyte upon trees within the moist shade of the canopy.

Unlike the flattened leaves of other Epiphyllums, these twist and curl growing longer with age. As the plant matures it will produce beautiful cream or pink nocturnal blooms on stems that resemble its leaves

Position - a warm spot in bright but dappled / filtered light. Can tolerate light shade. Direct sun may scorch the leaves.

Water - allow to partially dry between waterings. In winter allow to dry a little more. Do not leave the pot sitting in water as this will lead to root rot

Humidity - Maintain average to high humidity

Feeding - Apply balanced liquid feed once a month between spring and autumn

Ideal Temperature - 18°C and 26°C

Repotting - only when necessary using a lose aerated, free draining potting mix containing perlite or grit. If the soil feels compacted after a while loosen with a blunt stick
