Background
Since her early teens Antonia has collected and co-habited alongside a heady abundance of indoor tropical foliage – despite being often spatially challenged by it; every plant and cutting a part of a lifelong journey full of hope, pleasure, despair and discovery.
In 2018, after years of working as a glass artist specialising in etching botanical designs into glazing, she relocated to Cornwall with her family, took a career turn and founded The Planted House. From a small shop on the beautiful Chapel Street, she has been providing indoor plants and sharing knowledge and passion for biophilic interiors; developing an established business that is very much part of the creative, eclectic business community of Penzance.
Antonia is a creative and never short of ideas for plant styling and installation; always exploring and creating new and unique ways to hang and support plants for aerial displays using materials such as rattan fibre and steel wire rope. In 2022 she and her creative partner and husband Ian won Gold at Chelsea Flower Show for their aerial installation in the houseplant category.
Now offering interior plant design, supply and styling for residential, retail and workspaces – Antonia creates indoor plantscapes that foster a meaningful connection to nature and a commitment to care for it.
