Forest Cactus

Native to humid forests of South and Central America as well as Africa and India, where it grows

as an epiphyte on branches and trunks of trees

Position - in a warm room with bright filtered light. Can benefit from some direct morning sun. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun. Can tolerate partial shade

Water - moderately, allowing much of the soil to dry between waterings Never allow pot to sit in water as roots will rot. Water less in winter

Humidity - prefers high, bathrooms are ideal

Feed - apply diluted cactus fertiliser once a month from spring to autumn

- Blooms may appear on stems of mature plants

- Blackening stems at base indicate overwatering

- Flaccid stems indicate underwatering
